A spread that wide usually means the recorded sales are not strictly comparable: different configurations or finishes, units sold for parts or with cosmetic damage, or listings where the model name is shared across more than one variant. What buyers should know
Vintage receivers are usually sold as-is. Ask directly whether the unit has been recapped, whether the lamps and switches work, and whether all inputs and the tuner section have been tested. Original wood cases and faceplates in good condition carry a real premium.
