## Entry 1: How we do reviews, and why the first one is the kO-R2

Published: September 28, 2026

From time to time, HiFi Registry buys a piece of equipment we think stands a real chance of long-term ownership. We pay retail, we buy from an authorized dealer, and we spend our own money. No loaners, no accommodation pricing, nothing sent to us in exchange for coverage. If a manufacturer wants a review, the answer is the same one everyone else gets: we might buy one.

What follows here is not an audiophile magazine review. There is no measurement suite and no purpose-built listening room with a treated ceiling. It is the running opinion of people who bought the thing because they wanted to live with it, published as that opinion forms. This page is a thread. Each entry below is dated, and we add to it as the speakers go from crate to room to something we have an actual view on.

First up: the kO-R2 from Klipsch and Devon Turnbull's Ojas. We ordered the first evening they went on sale, at retail, through [Common Wave HiFi](https://www.commonwave.net/) in Los Angeles. The whole transaction was handled remotely from Arizona and they could not have made it easier. If you are looking for a dealer who does this right, start there.

The speakers are in the room. They will be driven by a pair of VAC Signature 200 iQ monoblocks. Unboxing and build notes are next.
